Epu Filu

Epu Filu is a 2D pixel-art platform game made in 2021, based on the Mapuche’s (indigenous group from the south of Chile and Argentina) culture and cosmology. You embody Sayen, a brave young woman with the mission to regain the balance lost on the earth.

It's the year 2022, and the environmental crisis is starting to show its ugliest side. In the Araucan lands, our main character, Sayen, a brave young Mapuche, receives, through a pewma (dream), the mission to regain the balance lost in the Mapu. To do this, she must find the blue rock, Kalfukura, in the breadth of Wallmapu and save it from the destructive plans of the sorcerer Kalku.

This is just a one-level demo developed during my undergraduate studies in Design, and it's intended to be continued someday in the future. Most of the narrative was developed and contained in a script, but it’s not included in the current demo due to the limitations of production.
